Submission of the master thesis
1 Uploading the electronic version on u:space!
Once you have completed your master thesis – ideally following your supervisor’s agreement –, submit the digital version before the bound versions in u:space under Graduation – Plagiarism check. You can only submit your thesis if topic and supervision have been approved by the study programme director (SPL).
Once you have uploaded the thesis, you will receive a confirmation that the master's thesis was successfully uploaded to the plagiarism server ("Hochladebestätigung").
Please send this confirmation to: ssc.sozialwissenschaften@univie.ac.at
After receiving this form, the SSC will forward your uploaded master's thesis to your supervisor.
2 Plagiarism Check & Printing of the Master Thesis
Once the plagiarism check has been completed and confirmed, please print your thesis and submit two hardbound copies of the thesis, either
- by depositing it at the porter’s desk at the NIG (Universitätsstraße 7, 1010 Vienna) or
- by postal mail to: StudienServiceCenter Sozialwissenschaften, Universitätsstraße 7, 6th floor (room C 0622), 1010 Vienna; so that they can be forwarded to the Vienna University Library.
3 Contact MPGD Admin Team – Choose the Second Examiner
Around the date of uploading your thesis, please contact master.demography@univie.ac.at to inform whom you would like as your second examiner (the first examiner is usually your supervisor). Again please indicate two preferences: No. 1, No. 2 from the list of supervisors.*

4 Grading of Master Thesis
The supervisor has two months to evaluate the thesis and submit the report to the SSC. After the supervisor has handed in the evaluation, you will receive an e-mail with a scanned copy of the evaluation form containing the grade.
After the positive assessment of your master’s thesis, you can take the final examination (public defence). Please register for the public defence.
